Complete first-run setup

After a new account enters the workspace for the first time, FileMentra opens a four-step setup. Confirm your full name and, when you are the owner, choose a recognizable workspace name. Invited members see the existing workspace name but cannot rename it.

Next choose whether you work solo or with a team, select an approximate team size, identify your role, and choose up to four initial goals. These answers personalize examples and guidance; they do not buy a plan, grant permissions, or hide product features.

Skip or revisit guidance

Skip for now closes the complete first-run experience and remembers that choice for your user account in this workspace. The setup does not reopen on another browser or device. Your account remains fully usable, and account or workspace settings can still be changed from their normal pages.

Quick tour is always available near Settings in the workspace sidebar. Starting it again resets only the tutorial progress; it does not change files, permissions, settings, or the original onboarding answers.

Follow the optional quick tour

The seven-step tour moves through the real workspace rather than showing a separate demo. It introduces workspace navigation, secure upload, My files, Send, Requests, Rooms, and Security Center. The active surface receives a visible highlight while a small guide explains why it matters.

• Use Back and Next without creating test data.
• Take me there returns to the expected page if you navigate away mid-tour.
• Close or Skip tour at any point; progress is stored server-side.
• Finishing the final Security Center step marks the tour complete.
